- Make a list of your skills (both soft and hard skills)
- Take a look at a few job descriptions in different areas, to see where your skills might fit
- Start looking at open positions in whichever path seems like the best fit
- Take a look at your CV

Things to do before starting a new job

What to do on your first day of work
Now that you’ve armed yourself with the knowledge and skills you need for your new career path, there’s the moment where your first day of work begins. Some great tips for what you can do to make your first day a winner includes:
- The best advice - be yourself!
- Prepare questions and ask them as the day goes on
- Be ready to explain who you are - your new colleagues will be curious
- Show up early! This is your first impression, so make it a good one
- Try to take it all in. This is a great chance to get your feel for what’s to come
- Learn the professional rules - either by asking or observing
- Talk to as many people as possible
We also highly recommend taking note of the people you meet and what their positions are in the company. These will be your colleagues, and forging strong relationships with them from the get-go is a great way to get started.
