“My intern experience meant I could lead as a new hire”

Of all my internships, P&G was by far and away the most exciting and challenging. It was a six-month period of hands-on work and learning in Manufacturing, all while I was also writing my Master thesis.

My internship helped me figure out exactly what I wanted to do after graduation. I was already convinced that I wanted to work in FMCG, and I quickly realized that P&G was a pioneering, global player in this industry. The level of autonomy I was given was also impressive. I had real, business-critical tasks to complete, and with the support of my colleagues and mentors, I was able to finish my project to a high standard, grow in confidence and knowledge, and begin to lay out my career plan.

The internship was definitely time well spent. I gained the skills and understanding needed to be offered a permanent role at P&G—it was time to put my studies and experience to the test on the production floor. New methods needed to be implemented and I was experienced enough to train my team on this topic, which in turn taught me new leadership skills.

Today, I am an Engineer within R&D BabyCare in the German Innovation Center.
