“I am constantly pleasantly surprised, stretched and challenged”
Spencer Kelly, Brand Management
Before joining P&G, I worked for a global financial analyst, but I was completing work quickly and began to outgrow the role. I was offered and given a promotion but it was the same story. I wanted new challenges and more responsibility, so I started to look for a company that could offer that from an early stage, and continue to offer that throughout my career.
From Day 1 at P&G, I was speaking with creative agencies, directing campaigns, working with R&D and getting involved in the entire process that we go through to build initiatives and bring ideas to life. I also met with people from across the business to learn how everyone is connected and plays a role in getting products to consumers. You could say I 'hit the ground running' with little initial training, but when I began formal training, it was excellent! And the caliber of people I met there made me want to be the best I could be.
Two years, several roles, many projects and multiple beauty brands later, I’m the Brand Manager on Olay, working on upstream projects that will be entering the market in 2018/19.
I’ve certainly found the responsibility I was looking for. I don’t know of any other place that makes people feel like they own their work unless they’re entrepreneurs or have a start-up. P&G gives us the ability to be strong owners and work with some of the best and brightest in the world.
