“I'm introducing driverless forklifts into every warehouse”
Ana, Solutions & Application Manager
I’m an IT manager within Global Warehousing Management Systems. I was an intern before joining full-time on this assignment. My internship was a great experience and sealed the deal when it came to choosing somewhere to begin my career. The best part was my project and the high level of responsibility that came with it. My internship was also my first introduction to some of the technology we use here: Excel, Spotfire, and KNIME, which is a really powerful analytics tool that enables us to analyze big data in real time. Now, I am using MySQL, MOCA and JDA Software on my day-to-day job.
My current assignment is to deploy a new warehouse management system in our warehouses and distribution centers around the globe, in a standard way, so that we do it faster, better and cheaper. The system is so innovative, and it serves as the digital foundation of our supply chain, for example, it enables P&G to use driverless forklifts in our warehouses. It also manages resources more efficiently. This project is an exciting challenge because every warehouse is different, with varying levels of automation already in place. So, we need to think strategically to work with processes that are already in place so that we don’t interrupt warehouse activity and become more digital.
IT opportunities at P&G are so broad. You can manage large applications, become a cyber security professional; write code for our smart toothbrushes; become a data scientist; or specialize in single pieces of tech such as sensors. The list goes on—there’s so much to do and learn.
