YOUR ROLE

We are looking for an SAP Basis consultant with experience on SAP Netweaver and S/4 HANA administration, proficient in Oracle and HANA database administration with Linux as operating system. Basis Managers will be supporting day-to-day operations ensuring systems are running in normal state and provide recommendation on how to further improve our organization’s service.

YOUR TEAM

This role works with the SAP Operations Director. The team is responsible for the management and continuous delivery of SAP Technical Products, Services and Solutions in SAP Basis, Platform Security, SAP Infrastructure, SAP Analytics & Cloud Services. The team, currently 60 people strong, will operate globally and is organised regionally with teams in NA, LA, Europe and Asia.

How success looks like:

Handling and resolving global SAP Platform issues within SLA & proactively checking the SAP systems providing recommendations that will improve service and system performance. Leading root cause analysis and corrective action plan for problem records brought about by critical and/or recurring incidents. Sharing knowledge and expertise with the broader team enabling them to support and handling issues within your domain of expertise. Being a member of the product fusion team and supporting the shaping of our organization's technical product roadmap.


Qualifications

Responsibilities of the role

  • Accountable for landscape management, availability and performance of all SAP systems running on HANA, Oracle and MSSQL DBs

  • Coordinate with different teams in installation, maintenance, and upgrades of SAP systems

  • Support SAP systems throughout the lifecycle of projects from time to time

  • Ensure integrity of SAP systems by designing and applying appropriate security settings.

  • Involve in proactive SAP monitoring and performance tuning of large SAP systems running on Any Databases

  • Provide technical upgrades functional and technical enhancements

  • Solve problems with connectivity, web services, and overall aspects of the SAP solution

  • Installation, upgrade and maintenance of HANA, Oracle, SQL databases

  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Operations team, and service providers

  • Have a complete understanding of the SAP on-premise and cloud environment

  • Aim for continuous improvement as a team member

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, engineering or related field required; master’s degree preferred

  • 5-8 years of SAP Basis experience that includes at least 2 end to end deployments.

  • 2 to 5 years of HANA administration experience in large environments, preferably running SAP Business Suites

  • At least 2 years of experience in user management, monitoring and issue diagnosis of HANA databases

  • You should have participated in a minimum of 1 deployment of a SAP system

  • Experience in High availability, disaster recovery, system refreshes and backup mechanisms

  • Should have experience in production support

  • Experience in deploying S/4 HANA

  • Experience in implementing different High Availability solutions for different landscapes

  • Linux experience SLES, prerequisites for Linux systems, FS, sizing, tuning, issue diagnosis on Linux

  • SAP notes, support packages, tuning, EWA

  • Experience in Solman 7.2 Focused Run

  • Oracle Experience: Oracle 12 and 19c, including SAP on Oracle DBA

  • Oracle Data Guard Experience and Managing Oracle data bases

  • MaxDB Operation experience

  • Ability to lead critical issues involving large-scale SAP systems

  • Ability to take ownership of work activities and take it to conclusion in a timely and efficient manner

  • Effective communication, both written and verbal, with technical and non-technical multi-functional teams spread across regions

  • Familiar with Azure or any additional hyperscale, good interpersonal skills, experience on SAP Sizing and infrastructure.
