Sanjay Suresh
Senior Manager (Account Executive – Bhopal & Indore)
Former Sales Intern, 2019, India
Please give a short description of the project you managed as an intern.
As an intern in the Distributor Operations team, I was tasked with working on low cost coverage models to help expand coverage to Tier-3 Towns & Power Villages. While working on this project I had the opportunity to understand in-depth the coverage model we follow in India & compare it with the various models used by P&G across the globe. I was then given the freedom to ideate on novel models which would work under the cost constraints of rural India. After testing out the ideas on pilot projects across different states, I finally presented my final recommendation to the India Sales Leadership Team.
Describe the P&G culture you were immersed in. What was your favorite part about working in this environment?
The culture at P&G while I interned here was one where I was encouraged to connect with as many people as possible to understand complex constructs. This gave me the opportunity to interact with people across the length and breadth of the organization – which was my favorite part of the internship. The second thing which struck me was the willingness to not only consider out of the box novel ideas, which were coming from an intern, but to also try them out and invest in even running pilot projects around these ideas. It was the perfect environment for me to express myself while feeling like my inputs truly mattered to the organization.
How has P&G helped you develop desired skills or achieve your professional goals?
Over the past two years in P&G, the company has constantly invested in giving me the platform to push my personal boundaries while delivering broader organization goals. My manager offers the right balance of ownership & guidance to ensure I have the freedom to make business decisions while always having someone to sound off my ideas to. The company also offers training programs & workshops which helps me orient my skillset towards the roles I aspire for in the future.
