“I work with technicians and external vendors alike to ensure the plant’s every success.”
Florencia, PS, Gillette Manufacturing Plant (Reading)
I came to P&G with previous experience from a different country, when I first started it wasn’t only a new company, but a new country I had to adapt to. But my first day at P&G was really refreshing, full of new people, new experiences, new processes to get involved with. Not like most of other companies I have worked with, were you are given lots of procedures to read about and training to do before even starting.
As a Chemical Engineer, being part of the Making and Utilities Department it's amazing the impact I have had right from the beginning. Within the first month, I had been involved in a world of mixers, pumps, exchangers, piping, vessels, instrumentations and more, somewhere every chemical engineer wants to be involved! I have been given projects to lead by myself such as the mixing and aeration investigation, it was so interesting to be involved in, to comply with customer and standards to make perfect, high quality products which thousands of consumers will see on the shelf and use.
I had to work with Materials and Quality departments to ensure we could reliably make trials to identify root causes and find best solutions to comply with standards and customer needs. In projects like these there are always a lot of people involved, including technicians and operators. Indeed, I now have lots more projects I am involved with, increasing the productivity and output of the production plant, I work with technicians and external vendors alike to ensure the plant’s every success. It is is lots of hard work and challenging but so fulfilling when you see the results of your efforts pay off.
