"Each new assignment can give you the opportunity to work on a completely different part of the business"
Possibly my biggest challenge so far was during my first role where on day one I was introduced to my new team including 5 finance professionals for whom I was given people management responsibility. Being straight out of university with no prior experience it was quite daunting at first however the team were very welcoming and my manager provided on the job coaching to help me to succeed. It was also a great opportunity to learn from experts in the business area to provide value add insights for how we could improve our operations ongoing.
When speaking to friends in other industries, I feel that work life balance is one of the biggest benefits of working at P&G. The company really understands the correlation between effective work life balance and delivering great business results. In my role I’m given the responsibility and flexibility to manage my own workload around any personal commitments. In addition to this, we have a flow to work culture which means that during peak times, different team members help support you and vice versa. Outside of work I still find plenty of time for socialising with friends, hobbies and travel - there is absolutely no expectation to work weekends and I’ve found P&G managers are great at helping support priority setting making sure workplans are balanced yet still challenging to enable personal growth and results.
All the finance roles in P&G are incredibly varied and this is what I find most exciting about a career here. Each new assignment can give you the opportunity to work on a completely different part of the business so that over a short space of time you can begin to build a holistic understanding of the way P&G operates.
